BIOGRAPHY
CAUSTIC was created in 2002 by Madison, Wis., DJ Matt Fanale (AKA Eurotic/Phoedull/Gloryhole/DJ Gay DJ). At first, the music totally sucked but people and pals were kind about it.
Then it sucked less.
Miraculously, it sucked even less.
Then, it almost DIDN'T suck. But still kinda did.
In 2005, CAUSTIC was signed to Static Sky Records. Some say it was because he had some shit on the label and blackmailed them into signing him. Some say it was because label owner Mark Stagliano has blackouts and signs bands with his alter ego/boyfriend Christian Bankes. Some say it was just good luck.
Either way -- HA HA! -- Static Sky is stuck with CAUSTIC. Suckers.
Okay, well not really. SSR went kaput, but CRUNCH POD MEDIA snapped up CAUSTIC and so Caustic is on the same label as ENDIF, C/A/T, MANUFACTURA, THE OPERATIVE, CERVELLO ELETTRONICO, and AUTOCLAV 1.1. So CRUNCH POD is stuck with Caustic's dumb ass. (Now that this has been written I hope CP doesn't go out of business.)
Regardless, CAUSTIC's signed. The first album, "Unicorns, Kittens, & Shit" debuted in Spring 2006, to minor acclaim, although it did hit #1 on Metropolis' Top Ten for two weeks (some suspect foul play).
In the meantime, CAUSTIC has been playing a shit-ton of show with acts much more important than he, such as This Morn' Omina, Combichrist, Babyland, Razed in Black, Bella Morte, Empusae, Terrorfakt, Manufactura, C/A/T, Hecate, Andraculoid, Grendel, among others.
